Why is IMBA Theatre an exciting new hub in Singapore?
Gardens By The Bay’s new versatile IMBA Theatre presents a range of multi-experiential arts and culture events from January 2026. The venue merges technology, art, creativity, and storytelling to showcase local exhibitions, interactive exhibitions by global companies, live performances, and other engaging programmes.
Driven by H&B, talented collaborators come together in this innovative space to offer a world of shared discovery. These include ACRE Design, Arina International Holdings, DP Architects, and Kaizen Architecture, to name a few. Interestingly, London-based Lightroom are set to be a key collaborator in delivering world-class experiences at IMBA Theatre.

Highlights are the Black Box Theatre, which takes over more than 20,000 square feet and offers one of the tallest projection walls in Southeast Asia, standing at 12.5-metres-high. Meanwhile, this section is designed for immersive exhibitions and future-oriented arts, culture, and lifestyle events.
Additionally, the huge Gallery Space covers 12,500 square feet and will house traditional and mixed media showcases. Plus, there’ll be a selection of creative retail and dining experiences that complement the immersive environment.
What are the opening exhibitions for 2026?
One of the highlight immersive art events announced for the launch include the Botero in Singapore exhibition, as well as Nanyang style art movements, and a nostalgic showcase by famous local muralist Yip Yew Chong.

Particularly, the Botero in Singapore exhibition opens in three parts this season. It brings together nearly 130 original works by the late Colombian artist Fernando Botero, spanning paintings, drawings, indoor sculptures, and larger-than-life outdoor bronzes.
