The building is a tribute to the era that shaped, honouring the legacy of the historic shophouse it sits in with a forward-looking identity.
The 4-storey heritage shophouse, consisting of 1939, takes visitors on a journey from the moment they land on The Front Porch. The ground floor preserves the vibrant legacy of the original Tong Ah Eating House. It features a vibrant restaurant with an open kitchen. While Level 2 also houses the restaurant in a colourful, intimate setting with hand-painted murals and vibrant decor paying tribute to Chinatown’s rich culture.
Indulge on signature dishes from a reimagined menu, such as Chili Crab Burger and Lamb Rack, with added twists and a touch of nostalgic. Overall, the diverse global flavours and food offerings at the restaurant pay homage to the heritage of Chinatown Singapore.
Rooftop Bar
Studio 1939 is the stylish cocktail bar on the third floor offering a whimsical setting for a drink. From the eclectic decor such as sailor boy motifs and fairytale figures to the vintage furnishings…the relaxing bar design is inspired by Australian artist David Bromley. This speakeasy-style bar is the perfect place to sip innovative BPM (Beats per Minute) cocktail offerings – each reflecting the energy of music genres.
