The world’s largest light, sound, and multimedia showcase currently lights up Singapore like never before. The dazzling experience opened at Bayfront Event Space and feature larger-than-life installations, with nine unique worlds to explore, including use of a whopping 20 million LED lights and the world’s tallest Tree of Lights, at 47 metres tall, which is equivalent to five Merlions stacked upon each other. Here’s what our team learned at the global premiere of illumi in Singapore:
ILLUMI in Singapore
Base Entertainment Asia and Cavalia teamed up to offer the global debut of illumi for the next three months at Bayfront Event Space. The first-of-its-kind event captivates people of all ages as they embark on a dazzling outdoor night adventure down by Marina Bay. illumi first debuted in Canada’s Montreal in 2019 created by the team behind Cavalia’s 2014 Bayfront spectacle so this the first time the event takes place anywhere else in the world.
Visitors can explore nine unique themed universes each more enchanting than the last. Highlights include The Enchanted Maples transporting guests to Canada through red and orange maple leaves, a winter wonderland with shimmering snowflakes at the Wall of Lights, a peaceful haven with more than 200 animal structures at Puppies and Kitties, a glowing Magical Forest with majestic wildlife, and a Sahara-inspired The Dune Palace, to name a few.
A world of wonder awaits you at The Infinite Poles which is an icy world where penguins and igloos coexist, as well as the colourful Tunnel of Lights where space and time no longer exist, and you can’t miss the standout 47-metre Tree of Lights next to the the Magical Carousel offering whimsical ride under the moonlight.
Overall, the event uses 20 million LED lights for its displays with sustainable and energy-efficient lighting, and the use of recycled materials. Definitely, it’s one of the best things to do at night this season.
Meanwhile, soothing music will play throughout the theme park to complement the life-like animatronics in the nocturnal wonderland. Certainly, illumi is an unmissable event until December 8 in Singapore. It is rumoured the cool event may extend to February 2, 2025.
Already, illumi has mesmerised more than 3.5 million visitors in Montreal. The large scale event in Singapore will be a visionary immersive experience and promises some of Asia’s greatest entertainment to all who attend.
