Changi Airport has transformed into a blooming destination for its first-ever, flower-themed showcase. A Sunflower Sojourn features more than 5,000 sunflowers from 10 varieties, beautifully arranged and spread across 22 locations in all four terminals. In fact, it is the world’s largest sunflower display to be held at an airport. Changi Airport has a love for sunflowers since the launch of its Terminal 2 Sunflower Garden in 2002. This sunflower showcase, symbolises joy and cheerfulness, and aims to have a positive impact on travellers. Here’s what we know about the the huge sunflower display at Changi Airport:
World’s largest sunflower display
Until September 30, visitors to Changi Airport can see a stunning collection of sunflowers. From classic bright yellow to rare reds, pastel pink Strawberry Blonde, and more…these blooms are a feast for the eyes.
Soak in nature before a flight and pose with a sunflower floral arch near the public Terminal 3 Departure Hall Skytrain. Meanwhile, Terminal 3 Departure Hall boasts an eight-metre tall sunflower topiary sculpture with more than 1000 sunflowers. Otherwise, there’s a huge five-metre tall rotating sunflower structure and floral display at Terminal 2 Departure Hall.
Plus, there’s a topiary sunflower painting at Terminal 2 Departure North (Public), educational displays at Terminal 2 Departure South (Public) offering insight into sunflower cultural significance and ecological importance, and sunflower seeds overflowing with blooms at Terminal 4 Departure Immigration (Public).
Additionally, the floral exhibit extends outdoors into cafe Hub & Spoke which is serving sunflower-inspired dishes such as themed ice cream and toast for limited time only.
Other sunflower-themed activities
Over the weekends of September 1, and September 6 to 8, passengers at Departure Transit Terminal 1 and 3 can immerse themselves in sunflower-style activities such as free workshops and temporary sunflower tattoos.
Additionally, there is exclusive sunflower-themed merchandise such as Buddy Beer, pens, and artworks, being sold at the Main Event Outpost at Terminal 3 Departure Hall and the themed vending machine at Terminal 3 North.
Certainly, the floral wonderland is an excellent idea to do with kids over the school holidays or during Mid-Autumn Festival 2024. So be sure to visit the largest airport sunflower display globally at Changi Airport Singapore before September 30.
