A unique new park, inspired by the whimsical world of Winnie the Pooh’s Hundred Acre Wood, opened on September 3 in Singapore. The 13-hectare Bidadari Park, boasts a 5.2km walking trail and occupies more than 10% of Bidadari Estate’s land, which is equivalent to more than 18 football fields. The lovely park features a range of habitats including woodlands, marshlands, a children’s playground, nest pods, a scenic lake, wildlife spotting, boardwalks, and more. Here’s what we know about Bidadari Park in Singapore.
Bidadari Park, Singapore
Immerse yourself in greenery and nature as the park’s design draws heavy influence from the natural and rustic elements of the Hundred Acre Wood where Winnie the Pooh and friends take on adventures in the fictional story. The park includes a 5.2km walking trail, as well as integrating woodlands, grasslands, and marshes to create diverse ecological spaces.
One of the standout features of the park is Alkaff Lake. The 1.8-hectare artificial lake was filled up with water in 1960s, but today it doubles up as a first-of-its-kind stormwater catchment zone that provides scenic views and protect against flooding during storms.
Other exciting attractions include a huge children’s playground – Adventure Playwoods – where kids can play on slides, a zipline, climbing nets, and more while parents relax with a picnic nearby.
Meanwhile, there are observation decks to spot wildlife and many bird hides including a 20-metre-tall raptor nest platform for those who like to watch migratory species and resident birds. Plus, there’s a heritage walk where visitors can learn about the history of Bidadari through storyboards along the Sang Nila Utama Boulevard. In 2025, there will be a memorial garden opening.
Overall, the lush hilly landscape of Bidadari Park in Singapore will make you feel as if you’re roaming around the Hundred Acre Wood. Certainly, an excellent place to explore for a few hours with family or friends.
Singapore’s new Bidadari Park is easily accessible via Woodleigh MRT, Bartley MRT, and a bridge connecting to Woodleigh Mall.
