Enchanting evenings perfect for date nights or dates with friends continue in Singapore with Candlelight pop performances. The latest to be announced is the tribute to Bruno Mars, which will see pianist Adriana Chiew work her magic on the ivories in a glowing Chamber at The Arts House recital.
Hundreds of candles will illuminate the historical space in September and October for what’s certain to be a phenomenal homage to the American singer-songwriter, Grammy-award winner and pop-music icon of the past decade.
Don’t miss out on this “Treasure”-filled evening of live music.
Bruno Mars has been a dominant force in pop culture since before his first hit single. Writing and producing songs for other artists before featuring and stealing the limelight, he is the songwriter turned popstar that transformed the way the masses listened to commercial music. He has been credited with the revival of new jack and retro R&B, and has been called the “king of retro crooning”, his talent evident across all of his songs and albums.
Having sold over 130 million records around the world, spent 14 weeks on the Billboard music charts with “Uptown Funk” and won the Grammy’s Record of the Year three times, Bruno Mars’ catalogue of songs is a collection of funktastic, pop classics. From “Nothin’ On You” to “That’s What I Like”, his sound will be reimgined for a sweet solo piano performance that will set the tone for a sensational evening.
Other songs to be performed include “Just The Way You Are”, “Versace On The Floor” and “Marry You”.
Chamber at The Arts House is a unique space in the city. The venue retains its original 1954 upholstery and welcomes visitors to sit in the same seats where former politicians gathered, but instead of debating policies you can now sit back in the candlelit space to enjoy your favourite music in a new light.
Candlelight: Tribute to Bruno Mars takes place on October 8 with two performances on the night. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show and audiences are welcome to take in the splendour of the enlightened room and prepare themselves to be whisked away by the mighty sounds of Bruno Mars on keys.
