Chaos Lab is Singapore’s new science-themed playground in Changi Airport and invites kids to enter into a world where creativity meets chaos. The playground is based on the laboratory of the mad scientist Dr Splat and allows children to explore and learn through play. We decided to take a peek at what really goes on inside this crazy laboratory and give you the inside scoop on Chaos Lab. Read on to hear our Chaos Lab review.
First Impressions
The playground is located in terminal 2, level 3, of Changi Airport, and there is lots of colourful signage outside to ensure you won’t miss it. After taking off our shoes and shuffling through the door in our socked feet, we were immediately greeted by one of Dr Splat’s mad scientists to welcome us to experience. The performance was a great introduction, and the kids all loved the high energy and immersive feel. Next, we ventured through the “decontamination tunnel” to where all the sciency-fun really began!
The Different Zones
Chaos Lab is divided into different rooms and has a total of 11 science-themed zones. Each room has its own mad scientist to explain all the activities and to help you along if you have any questions. A really fun zone was the slime-making station, where kids could get messy as they made their own colourful slime. We also really enjoyed the giant ball pit, that was very popular amongst the kids and also had a few adults feeling like kids again! Even though the activities encouraged chaos, the experience was very well organised and guests transitioned easily between activities.
Who Is It For?
The experience is aimed at younger children aged 3- 8, but all visitors are encouraged to participate in this world of science. Visitors under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and there is free entry for children ages 0–2. Sessions are available every day of the week so it’s the perfect activity for an afternoon outing with the kids. Since it is conveniently located in Changi Airport it’s also a great way to kill time and burn off some energy during transit.
Visitor Reviews
We would encourage anyone with busy kids to give this experience a try, but if you’re still unsure about buying tickets, maybe these reviews can help you make up your mind!

Final Verdict
While the experience is definitely aimed at younger children, we still had a great time wandering through the different zones, and snapping some pictures in the Bubbling Ball Pit. It will take kids around one hour to complete this lab-themed playground and will keep them engaged and stimulated throughout. Just remember to bring socks, as you’ll be required to wear them inside the experience. Tickets for the event start at $25 for children and $9 for adults, and there are also Group bundles available to make the event even more accessible. If you’re looking for a fun day out that will excite your little one, then we’d definitely recommend giving Chaos Lab a visit.
