Commuters have a new way to navigate the island with the official launch of Flexar in Singapore. The revamped point-to-point car sharing service debuted on May 4, 2026—emerging from the strategic pause of its predecessor BlueSG. Flexar opened with more than 200 vehicles and 100 pick-up and drop-off stations. The rebranded platform aims to provide a highly flexible mobility solution tailored to Singapore’s push toward a car-lite future. Currently, stations are concentrated across HDB estates, healthcare facilities like Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and shopping malls in the central, northern, north-eastern, and eastern regions including towns such as Punggol, Tampines, and Ang Mo Kio. Here’s what we know.
How exactly does Flexar Singapore work?
Marking a significant departure from BlueSG’s fully electric, company-owned fleet, Flexar Singapore has pivoted to an asset-light, hybrid-fleet model. By partnering with third party fleet managers, the service now offers a mix of internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicles (EVs).
This strategic shift allows Flexar to scale rapidly and reliably without being constrained by Singapore’s existing EV charging infrastructure. Users can choose from a diverse lineup that includes the Hyundai Avante, Honda Fit, Toyota Sienta, and the electric Opel Corsa-e. This ensures that drivers have access to smaller cars for quick errands or larger multi-purpose vehicles for family outings.

Wonderfully, Flexar has completely overhauled its user onboarding and pricing structures to make it appeal to a wider demographic. Key highlights of the new system include:
- Zero Upfront Costs: No recurring membership fees or security deposits are required.
- Seamless Sign-Up: Drivers aged 18 and above with a valid license can verify their accounts instantly via Singpass.
- Per-Minute Pricing: Rates vary by vehicle tier, starting at $0.67 per minute for the Essential tier. The first five minutes and the first 50km of each trip are entirely free.
- Transparent Add-On Fees: A standard $0.99 platform fee applies per rental, alongside a temporary fuel surcharge that is reviewed weekly based on global oil prices.
Following a highly successful beta phase in April that saw nearly 10,000 registrations in just two weeks, Flexar is now targeting monthly, islandwide expansion. To celebrate the rollout of Flexar car sharing Singapore, new users can redeem a limited-time $10 welcome voucher over the next two weeks of May 2026. Book a ride here.
