Forget the expensive passes and hour-long queues to theme parks in Singapore—there is a bizarre new viral and colourful attraction just 20 minutes across the causeway for those looking for a fresh weekend outing. Johor Bahru’s Joyful Dreamland is an incredibly cheap and human-powered amusement park opened last month. Located at Sutera Square outside Sutera Mall, it runs from now until December 2026. Wonderfully, the rainbow park doesn’t use a single watt of electricity. Instead, this colourful playground runs entirely on YOU making it even more interactive. From cycling around Ferris wheels and massive colourful slides you push yourself down…it’s the ultimate budget-friendly workout disguised as a carnival. Here’s why Joyful Dreamland is a must-visit in Johor Bahru.
What can you actually do at the zero-electricity rainbow park?
Joyful Dreamland, stands out because everything is human-powered, using your own movement to power the rides. Park highlights include a mini rollercoaster, a small Ferris wheel and a carousel fitted with bicycle mechanisms—where the speed depends on how fast you pedal. Meanwhile, there are multiple rainbow slides, a huge bouncy castle, suspension bridges, balanced paths, and donut tire slides for children, to name a few things.

Overall, the park is highly photogenic filled with ducks, rainbow colours, LED lights, and whimsical backdrops that are made for Instagram and family photos.
Entry to the interactive playground is charged per person and comes with unlimited play for the day. Tickets begin at RM30 ($12) and there are cheaper bundles for families. Additionally, children under 100cm enter free—making it extremely affordable compared with bigger theme parks. Once inside, you can stay from 5pm until midnight so it’s ideal for those on shopping trips in Johor Bahru.

Certainly, Joyful Dreamland is an immersive experience a short drive from Singapore.
