The Lion City has been gifted with a beautiful new boutique hotel by the renowned global hotel group Accor. Mondrian Singapore Duxton made its Southeast Asia debut, after months of delays, on June 1 in the charming neighbourhood of Duxton Hill.
Mondrian Singapore Duxton is a vibrant cultural hub, offering guests and locals an immersive experience, inspired by Mondrian flagships in places like Los Angeles, New York, and London.
Towering above the historic Chinatown and Central Business District, the new hotel is set in a fantastic location surrounded by superb things to do, from cosy bars to museums, and more attractions. It focuses on creativity, design and innovation by merging art, glamour and gastronomy – taking hospitality to a whole new level in Singapore.
Design
Mondrian partnered with world-famous architects and designers, such as Marcel Wanders and Philippe Starck, to create bold, thoughtful designs that push boundaries and enchant people upon arrival.
Meanwhile, Mondrian Singapore Art Collection is a collaboration with The Artling. It features a permanent multi-sensory collection of artworks by both local and international artists, incorporated into the hotel’s design process throughout the property.
From painting to digital art, quirky sculptures and photography…there is so much to admire. Two examples are Waterfall IV by famous local artist Dawn Ng, showcasing a large block of ice coloured in many pigments, and major British painter Ian Davenport’s artworks on display.
Rooms & Suites
There are 302 Singaporean-style rooms and suites of all sizes, fitted with a modern twist, designed by award-winning Studio Carter. Impressively, all the guest rooms feature an exclusive wood print that comes to life using digital augmented reality animations by André Wee, Rojak – relevant to the theme of art. Additionally, guests will enjoy state-of-the-art amenities such as minibars, Lavazza coffee machines, and more.
Facilities
The artsy new hotel offers a little piece of paradise at its cinematic rooftop pool overlooking the CBD skyline, alongside a selection of unique bars and restaurants.
For instance, visitors can tuck into Italian cuisine at Bottega Di Carna, enjoy a tropical cocktail at Jungle Ballroom, and feel stylish at Christina’s all-day restaurant and bar.
Wonderfully, Canyon Club is the rooftop bar and poolside on the top floor, featuring a 1970s Hollywood-style with cosy cabanas, eye-catching Water Mouths Monochrome artworks, and a delicious all-day menu. Certainly, the perfect new place to relax with a frozen daiquiri at sunset.
Mondrian Singapore Duxton is one of the best new attractions in Singapore and a superb staycation to enjoy this season. Book your experience on the website.
