Singapore’s public transport landscape is set for a major revamp by the end of 2025 with the introduction of six new bus services and five new City Direct services. These new Singapore bus services aim to enhance connectivity for residents in growing areas like Punggol, Bukit Panjang, Tengah, and Brickland within the next two months. These services fall under the ongoing $900 million Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme. In fact, the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) move addresses calls from commuters and community leaders for faster, more direct access to key MRT stations and other city destinations. Here’s what you should know about the new bus services in Singapore.
Which areas will Singapore’s new bus services connect?
There will be 11 new bus services in total. For instance, Service 104 will collect Punggol Coast to Woodleigh, linking Sengkang, Buangkok, and Serangoon along the route from October 26. Meanwhile, Service 984 will provide a direct link between Bukit Panjang and Jurong East via Teck Whye and Brickland. Plus, travellers living in Punggol will gain Service 44 from November 10—a peak hour connection to Changi Airport. Additionally, Tengah and Brickland are reach getting new limited-stop, peak-hour routes from November 17: Service 451 (Brickland-Bukit Gombak), Service 452 (Tengah-Beauty World MRT), and Service 453 (Tengah-Bukit Batok)—designed to bring residents closer to major transport nodes.
Five new City Direct Services will be launched by year-end for the bustling North-East. These new routes offer express links between heartland estates and the city during weekday peaks. Although, LTA did not expand on this information yet.
Interestingly, these will be complemented by two strategic route extensions: Service 114 will now stretch from Buangkok to Yio Chu Kang Interchange and MRT, while Service 146 will link Bartley and Kovan MRT. Certainly, these upgrades will smoothen journeys for commuters who live further out from the city.
Here’s a list of the new bus services launching in Singapore:
- Service 104: Punggol Coast – Woodleigh (full-day service)
- Service 984: Bukit Panjang – Jurong East (full-day service)
- Service 984A: Woodlands Road – Brickland Road (short trip, late night daily)
- Service 44: Punggol Coast – Changi Airport (peak-hour service)

Wonderfully, residents can expect shorter travel times to rail lines, critical amenities, and even the airport—making car-free living even more appealing in freshly developed neighbourhoods and towns with surging populations and less MRT access.
