Singapore is a city where tradition meets modernity at every corner, so there’s always something new or nostalgic to explore. From a vibrant mix of interactive activities to innovative art spaces, the city-state invites curious minds to uncover hidden stories everyday. And this season, a truly special SG60 pop-up experience on the lawn of the National Museum of Singapore lets visitors dive into Singapore’s heritage through objects that resonate with memories and history—perfectly blending fun, discovery, and a fresh perspective on what makes Singapore so unique. The Museum of U & Me turns three shipping containers into a captivating journey through time for FREE. It runs from October 9 to December 14, 2025. Here’s what to expect at the Museum of U & Me in Singapore.
What can you see at the Museum of U & Me?
The Museum of U & Me, by National Heritage Board (NHB), is a thrilling SG60 pop-up exhibition. Visitors can see a handpicked collection of everyday items contributed by Singaporeans. The immersive exhibition aims to connect personally with the nation’s story—through a 1970s retro Setron TV, fashionable memorabilia like measurements taken from Princess Diana by local fashion designer Benny Ong, and even a brick from a historic local brickworks site. Wonderfully, the pop-up event is free entry for all!
The SG60 Museum is divided into five themed zones highlighting pre-independence days, labour, food culture, leisure, and nation-building. Plus, it is enhanced with interactive digital displays, 3D printed reproductions, Mediacorp CNA docuseries, learning games, and tactile artefacts. In turn, visitors can touch and feel part of history—making it an engaging experience for all ages.
Exhibition highlights include meaningful objects like the Singapore Stone, hawker licenses, classic toys, and a vintage HDB TV—all painting a colourful picture of Singapore’s growth from the shores to a modern nation. Interestingly, the interior of the SG60 pop-up mirrors the inside of a typical Singaporean home adding to the comfort.
Certainly, the Museum of U & Me offers a first-touch experience that encourages further exploration into the full National Collection housed at Singapore’s museums nearby. Definitely, a must-visit free exhibition and one of the best SG60 things to do to connect with Singapore’s heritage. It runs from 10am to 7pm daily.
