If you’ve been dreaming of swapping the humidity and frequent downpours of Singapore for a salty breeze by the Mediterranean sea, your travel plans just got a lot smoother. While direct flights from Singapore Changi (SIN) to Barcelona El Prat (BCN) have officially returned to the skies this month, the real magic happens this summer 2026.
Starting July 1, Singapore Airlines is de-linking its Barcelona service from Milan, transforming it into a dedicated five-times per week non-stop route from Singapore Changi Airport. Wonderfully, this will be a game-changer for travellers meaning a larger seat availability, significantly more convenience, and a faster 14-hour journey to reach Barcelona that bypasses the usual transit fatigue. Here’s what we know about direct flights between Singapore and Barcelona.
Flight schedule 2026
The boosted Singapore Airlines direct service to Barcelona is the perfect way to enjoy the 2026 summer season in Europe. The direct SQ388/387 service is currently running twice weekly (typically on Mondays and Fridays) as of March 2026. But this will be extended to five times a week from July 2026. Here’s the current details for the direct flights between SIN and BCN every Monday and Friday:
- Singapore Airlines 388 Singapore (SIN) to Barcelona (BCN): 00.05 – 7.10
- Singapore Airlines 387 Barcelona (BCN) to Singapore (SIN): 11:55 – 07:35(+1)

Why summer 2026 in Europe?
Travellers arriving on these direct flights will be among the first to witness the Sagrada Família in its near-complete glory, as the Catalan capital pushes toward the final 2026 milestones for Gaudí’s masterpiece. Meanwhile, the increased flight frequency makes it easier than ever to plan a spontaneous escape to Spain and other European gateway cities nearby such as Paris, Lisbon, and Rome. Plus, you can enjoy a leisurely lunch of paella at seaside restaurants, sip sangria till your heart’s content, and see all of Barcelona’s top attractions like Park Güell without the stress of a layover.
Otherwise, you can easily connect to the Balearic Islands for a sun-soaked retreat and party holiday in Ibiza or take a high-speed train in just two hours to the capital of Spain’s Madrid, or else drive over one hour and 30 minutes to reach the border of France.

Note for your budget
It is important to note that Barcelona is doubling its tourist tax, which comes into effect on April 1, 2026. Depending on your accommodation, expect to pay around €12 per night or more, so be sure to factor this into your summer 2026 travel budget.
