If you’ve been hoarding your KrisFlyer miles for the ultimate glow-up in the sky, we have some sad news for you. Singapore Airlines (SIA) has just announced the bombshell that its highly-anticipated S$1.1 billion cabin makeover has officially been delayed. Originally slated to finally take flight this year, the first-ever retrofitted Airbus A350-900 won’t actually welcome passengers until the first quarter of 2027. The upgrade features game-changing sliding doors in Business Class and an exclusive new First Class that looks like a dream. Here’s what we know about the delay of the Singapore Airlines First & Business Class until 2027.
Why is SIA delaying its highly-anticipated cabin makeover?
According to an SIA spokesperson, the frustrating delay boils down to the aviation industry’s current nightmare of widespread supply chain issues and a certification process for one of the brand-new seat designs. So when it finally launches, the massive makeover will completely transform 41 of SIA’s A350-900 aircraft—bringing an unprecedented level of luxury travel to Singapore Airlines.
Travellers can enjoy ultra-chic Business Class seats outfitted with sliding privacy doors, resembling small private suites, and the highly-anticipated introduction of an exclusive 4-seat First Class cabin on their ultra-long-range jets.

Additionally, SIA is overhauling the entire in-flight experience, alongside the spectacular new seating arrangements. By the time 2027 rolls around, passengers can expect elevated dining menus, plush new soft furnishings, and a next-generation KrisWorld entertainment system. Plus, the fast Starlink Wi-Fi will be rolled out across the fleet in early 2027 offering unlimited free internet for Suites, First, and Business Class passengers.
Certainly, we need to have a little more patience for these luxury future flights to Sydney or London, but the wait for the Singapore Airlines First Class & Business Class until 2027 will be absolutely worth it.
