Why is the new $2M Turtle Museum worth a visit?
After a few years of tenancy struggles and having to vacate their former Orto location in 2025 to make way for new housing, the beloved museum reopened this week in a massive and stunning new space.
Remarkably, Owner Connie Tan poured over $2 million of her own retirement savings into building this bespoke habitat from the ground up, ensuring these rescued creatures have a 50% larger and much more comfortable environment to thrive in.
Visitors can step into a rare world shared by over 600 turtles and tortoises spanning more than 30 incredible species. And forget the glass barriers because you actually get the chance to pet and hand-feed many of these adorable free-roaming creatures.
Additionally, you can discover the majestic Sulcata Tortoise for a little luck, marvel at the bizarrely cute Pig Nose Flying Turtle, and listen to the quiet brunching of the beautiful Indian Star Tortoise having its dinner. Plus, the iconic Alligator Turtle and the Malaysian Giant River Turtle are a must-see too.
Best of all, visiting is a brilliant way to support a deeply passionate local community project. The venue opens daily from 10am to 6pm (closed on Tuesdays for maintenance).
