After 26 years of bringing sub-zero magic to the tropics, Jurong East’s iconic Snow City will permanently close its doors on September 30, 2026. Since its debut in 2000, Singapore’s very first indoor winter wonderland has been a thrilling attraction for generations of locals who didn’t need a passport to experience winter. From heart-pounding 120-metre-long ice slides to exciting bumper car arenas, snowy paintball shootouts, and an elaborate snow village…the nostalgic activity will be truly missed. However, the Science Centre Board (SCB) stated that the closure is a necessary step to keep offering fresh and relevant attractions. Here’s what we know about the Snow City Singapore closure.
Why is Snow City closing its doors after 26 years?
The decision to shut down the long-running attraction stems from a need to keep its offerings fresh and relevant amid shifting visitor interests and an evolving entertainment landscape. Plus, the move aligns with the SCB’s broader science education mission and future development plans.
Wonderfully, Snow City’s eight full-time employees have all been offered redeployment opportunities within the organisation, alongside outplacement and severance support for those choosing to pursue new paths.

Although, the beloved winter wonderland isn’t melting away without a proper send-off. Until the end of September, Snow City will host a public farewell campaign aptly titled One Last Snowfall. So Singaporeans can relive their childhood memories one last time with a special 30% discount. Priced at just $19 for adults and $16 for children. Certainly, you need to say goodbye to this spectacular winter attraction in Jurong East this season.
