Discover the rugged beauty of Mongolia, without actually leaving Singapore. This is a staycation that will transport you out of your daily life, and perhaps even your comfort zone.
For people seeking a travel adventure, minus the travel part, the Beyond Expeditions team has curated the perfect experience for you in collaboration with Ground Up Initiative. Why not take a break from the city, and immerse yourself in a new culture? Available until the end of January 2023, we’d suggest you make your booking soon.
Beyond Expeditions has led hundreds of tours to Mongolia, and now they are bringing Mongolia to you. They have erected the first-ever traditional yurt in Singapore, with the raw materials brought over directly from Mongolia. Furnished and filled with traditional interiors and trinkets, you will be able to enjoy an authentic Mongolian experience.
Priced at around $500, each yurt can accommodate up to four people, and both adults and children are welcome. The yurts include air conditioning (needed for the Singaporean summers), a mini kitchen, and various traditional art and furnishings.
For this two-day adventure, you will have to leave your city lifestyle at the door (or should we say tent flap?), and be prepared to get your hands dirty. Your days will be packed with workshops and activities that will equip you with the skills needed to survive on the harsh Mongolian steppes. Activities include, scavenging raw materials, chopping wood, and building outdoor fires.
But don’t worry, it’s not all hard work. In the evening you can relax during some peaceful downtime around the campfire. Breathe in the fresh evening air and reflect on your day while roasting a marshmallow or two. Next, you can put on one of your favourite movies displayed on our outdoor projector, or opt for some educational content on the Mongolian lifestyle. All in your very own cinema under the stars.
Wake up on your final morning to a delicious breakfast outside your yurt, and then say a last goodbye to your Mongolian hideaway. Tickets are available now until the 31st of January. And who knows, if you enjoyed this experience maybe your next trip will be the real thing.
