Contemporary French fine-dining restaurant Odette once again ranked in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. The annual list was revealed at an award ceremony in London this week showcasing Odette’s slip from eight place in 2021 down to number 36 on the 2022 list.
However, Odette still ranks as number eight in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for 2022. And regardless of the slip, Odette which is owned by Chef Julien Royer, is honored to be included on the list for five years running. Plus, it’s the only Singapore restaurant to make the top 50 this year due to Burnt Ends dropping to 94th place from number 34 in 2021.
Housed in National Gallery, the 5-star reviewed restaurant was first debuted on The World’s 5o Best Restaurants list in 2017. With dozens of awards under its belt such as The Best Restaurant In Singapore and Gin Mare Hospitality Award 2022…it’s one of the best restaurants to dine at in Singapore.
Perhaps, COVID-19 and strict lockdowns in Singapore had a major role to play in the ranking decreases for both restaurants. Meanwhile, a vegan restaurant in Copenhagen’s Denmark stole number one this year. Geranium also won the title of Best Restaurant In Europe.
Additionally, Central in Lima Peru took second place on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. While Barcelona’s Disfrutar jumped to third and Madrid’s funky Diverxo rose from 20th to fourth. Pujol in Mexico took 5th place after leaping up the list.
