Looking for unique activities in Singapore? The city-state just opened its first-ever commercial indoor snail farm specialised in controlled snail farming. Located in an industrial unit at 239 Pandan Loop, WholeSnail offers a temperature-controlled facility home to tens of thousands of European garden snails and is open to visitors by appointment for tours, feeding sessions, and escargot tastings. The farm is the brainchild of Singaporean founder Stephanie Kudus—who imported the first batch of snails from Italy and learned traditional snail-farming techniques on European farms before adapting them to Singapore’s climate. Here’s why this is an unmissable new attraction in Singapore.
Why is WholeSnail a must-visit indoor farm?
WholeSnail focuses on two main heliciculture products: ready-to-eat escargot and cosmeceutical-grade snail mucin used in skincare. The farm raises two varieties of European garden snails—Cornu aspersum maxima and Cornu aspersum aspersum—which are prized globally for their tender meat and high-quality mucus.
Stephanie’s team of less than 10 look after around 40,000 snails in stacked wooden towers. Interestingly, she hopes to scale this up to more than two million to support consistent supply for restaurants and beauty brands. Excitingly, visitors can book guided tours to see the full snail life cycle and other elements of this kind of farming.
Visitors can enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience on guided Snail Safari Tours to see the full snail life cycle, hand-feed European garden snails, get educated on snails, and sample processed escargot products produced in licensed facilities. Plus, the snail farm’s setting inside an industrial unit rather than a rural plot adds an unusual twist that’s rare in the region, with tight biosecurity and custom-built wooden snail towers designed for observation and education.

How to book
Snail farm tours are by appointment and made intentionally intimate with hands-on elements and optional workshops. In turn, this makes it both an educational outing and quirky experience for curious foodies and families including toddlers. Book here from $25.
