One of Broadway’s longest running shows – Wicked – is set to return to Singapore after nine years in March 2025 to the delight of musical fans. The show was last performed in Singapore in 2016. The production is presented by Base Entertainment Media and will be staged at Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands. Here’s what we know:
Wicked in Singapore
Wicked, is the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, centering around the untold story of the witches of Oz. First premiered in 2003, the Grammy and Tony award-winning show has been seen by nearly 70 million people globally and performed in 16 countries including Japan, China, United Kingdom, South Korea, New Zealand, among others.
The spectacular Broadway musical promises to captivate fans through magical storytelling and an iconic production. The storyline explores the complex relationship between the Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba and Glinda who is known for being a force of good. The pair become rivals, then friends, then frenemies when the world decides to pit them against each other calling one ”good” and one ”evil”.
Through dazzling performances, the musical highlights themes of identity, acceptance, and the nature of good versus evil where every scene is filled wit vibrant colours to enchant fans. Hence why it remains one of the most successful musicals of the past twenty years. In fact, the production is currently wowing audiences across Australia.

A waitlist for tickets is open via the Base Entertainment Asia website until August 11, 2024. Those who sign up will receive a 15% discount during the pre-sale period from August 13 at 10am to August 18 at 11.59pm. Meanwhile, general public sales will begin on August 16 at 10am via Marina Bay Sands, SISTIC, and Klook.
UOB and ASEAN cardmembers can purchase tickets via Klook from August 12 at 10am. Bare in mind the exact dates of the show in March 2025 are yet to be released.
