Pinot Noir and Gruyere. Champagne and Brie. Tempranillo and Idiazabal. Sauvignon Blanc and Goat Cheese. These are just some of the world’s famous wine and cheese pairings, the ones that have been tried and tested and tried again. But, if you don’t know why they work, then Noble Juice Sommeliers is hosting a masterclass to teach you all the basics plus wine and cheese to dine on.
Wine and Cheese–A Fermentation Love Story Masterclass is a Fever exclusive event.
Guests at Wine and Cheese—A Fermentation Love Story will first be welcomed with Ca dei Zago Valdobbiadene DOCG Metodo Classico Dosaggio Zero 2019. In other words, a fresh and youthful Italian sparkling wine that consistently ranks highly among critics and enthusiasts.
But then the 90-minute experience from Noble Juice sommeliers dives into the basics of wine tasting and gives you all the tips, tricks and knowledge you need to master the perfect wine and cheese pairing. You’ll learn about the fermentation process as well as cheese types before exploring similarities and getting to know why one combination works better than another.
Of course, to know what works and what doesn’t you’re going to have to taste some varieties. Theory only gets you so far, which is why Noble Juice sommeliers will be providing you with four variations, with wines such as a 2018 Movie Rebula, a Chateau Pajzos Furmint F and a Domaine Chotard Sancerre Blanc ‘Marcel Henri’ 2017.
To find out what cheese goes well with these and other wines, you’re going to have to head along and learn. Pay attention, though, because you will be tested with a quiz before you leave.
Taking place on Friday 10 and 17 December at The Providore’s Downtown Gallery, Wine and Cheese—A Fermentation Love Story will not only tantalise your tastebuds, but it will prepare you well for when you need to excite the senses sometime in the future.
