The world’s longest free standing glass bottom sky walk opened just a one hour flight from Singapore. The iconic tourist attraction is situated atop Gunung Machinchang in Langkawi, Malaysia. Known as Eagle’s Nest SkyWalk, it stands 650 metres above sea level, above the lush forest. Here’s everything you need to know about visiting the stunning sky walk in Langkawi.
World’s longest glass sky walk
Eagle’s Nest Skywalk is part of Langkawi Cable Car and Sky Bridge. The scenic sky walk’s glass bottom allows visitors to gaze hundreds of feet below and into the lush landscape of the island.
The impressive structure features a 38-metre long free-standing cantilever glass platform, coloured in red and yellow, and a design inspired by Langkawi’s symbolic eagle, built by the Kedahans. Wonderfully, the sky walk now holds the title of the longest glass bottom sky deck in the world.
The breathtaking glass sky way can hold up to 300 people at once. The new attraction is one of the best things to do in Langkawi. Plus, it’s a world-class viewpoint for a unique perspective.
Visitors must take the 15-minute cable car, over one of the world’s steepest sloops on Mount Machinchang, to reach this thrilling activity. Additionally, you can ride via a glass-bottom floor gondola also boasting unforgettable panoramic views.
It began construction in 2019, but faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, before finally opening in March 2024.
The tourist attraction is part of the existing Sky Bridge which is known as the world’s longest curved suspension bridge.
