Singapore was crowned the world’s most instagrammable place by travel website, Big 7 Travel, back in 2022. However, that title was lost to Milan for 2023. And, to make matters worse – we’re not even in the top 10. Eh?
Singapore has fallen to 13th on the list which includes 50 destinations around the world. These locations are ranked using hashtags and data about each place’s reputation on social media. Equally, the winners are selected using a ranking system evaluating the hashtags per place on both Instagram and TikTok, survey results for its audience and added input from the Big 7 editorial team.
London took second place followed by Paris in France coming in third. According to the report, Nice in France ranks 50th as the least instagrammable place globally. In 2022, Baku in Azerbaijan was the least instagrammable on the list but now it’s ironically in 12th place.
Here’s the the top 10 most instagrammable places for 2023:
1. Milan, Italy
2. London, England
3. Paris, France
4. Istanbul, Turkey
5. New York, USA
6. Nepal
7. Chicago, USA
8. Bali, Indonesia
9. Sri Lanka
10. Sydney, Australia
The added data for 2023 on TikTok views is what caused Singapore to drop on the list. Singapore secured more than 11 billion views on TikTok while Milan had more than 97 billion TikTok views.
Nevertheless, Singapore is still extremely photogenic with endless photo opportunities and unique experiences, from Marina Bay Sands to Supertree Grove, and a host of epic activities you can’t find in the likes of Milan and London.
