Changi Airport is celebrating the launch of a fantastic new flight route between Singapore and Canada. Wonderfully, Air Canada returned to Singapore after 33 years with an inaugural non-stop flight service between Vancouver and Changi Airport. In fact, this is the only direct flights between both regions.
Singapore – Canada direct flights
Air Canada’s longest flight route is on offered between Changi Airport and Vancouver International Airport. It started on April 4 and will operate four times a week in each direction.
The direct flights take 14 hours and 40 minutes making it one of the longest flight journeys in the world. Currently, the longest flight route worldwide is operated by Singapore Airlines between Singapore and New York taking around 18 hours or 19 hours.
This comes six months after Singapore Airlines suspended their flight services to Canada. Although, these Singapore Airlines flights had stopovers in places such as Tokyo, Hong Kong, and San Francisco so journey time was much longer.
The Air Canada flights depart from Changi Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 09.10am. This means the flights arrive in Vancouver at 08.45am on the same day.
Additionally, the Air Canada flights depart from Vancouver on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at a scheduled time of 00.15. Each flight arrives at 07.10am in Singapore.
The aircraft used is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with three-classes, offered in economy, premium economy, and business class. Already flights are in high demand. Flights begin at $1118 and if you book by April 12 you’ll get a discount. Book your flights via Air Canada.
This new flight service between Singapore and Canada gives both Canadians and Singaporeans easy access to explore each region like never before. Singapore and Bangkok are the only destinations Air Canada operates in Southeast Asia.
