The hit Broadway musical adaption will make its Southeast Asian debut at Marina Bay Sands in May 2026—promising a magical journey through Willy Wonka’s dazzling candy kingdom. Why is the musical a must-see?
Broadway International Group and Broadway Asia, in collaboration with Base Entertainment Asia, invite audiences of all ages to step inside an immersive, theatre world of pure imagination at Sands Theatre in May 2026. In fact, it’s the first time the musical plays in Southeast Asia.
The globally beloved story follows the young Charlie Bucket after he wins a Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. There, he is plunged into a mysterious and magical world with four other children. From meandering down chocolate rivers to dancing with mischievous Oompa-Loompas…the eye-catching musical offers immersive delights, toe-tapping music, and larger-than-life characters.

The new production features dreamy songs from the films, including I’ve Got A Golden Ticket, The Candy Man, Pure Imagination, and more—along with original music by Grammy® and Tony Award® winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Meanwhile, it features original direction by four-time Tony Award® winning director Jack O’Brien, alongside an award-winning creative, design, and production team.
In fact, the Broadway production premiered in 2017 running for more than 300 performances. The show has played in North America, London’s West End which garnered it two Oliver Awards, and it will soon stop in major cities like Hong Kong, Seoul, and cities in Australia.

How to get tickets
Tickets for Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Singapore are on sale now. presented by Base Entertainment Asia under the direction of Chantal Prudhomme, tickets can be selected from May 19. 2026. Prices begin at $88. Get Golden tickets via Marina Bay Sands, SISTIC, and Klook.
Times vary with shows at 1pm, 2pm, 6.30pm, and 8pm on selected dates. The performance duration is two hours and 10 minutes including a 20-minute break.
