The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2026 brings high-speed thrills and a newly-introduced SPRINT Race to the city streets this weekend. However, this massive event also brings significant traffic adjustments. To facilitate race preparations, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced extensive road closures around the Marina Centre and Padang areas from October 7 to 13, 2026. Motorists and daily commuters are strongly encouraged to prepare for altered routes and restricted access during this week. Here’s the Singapore road closures to expect.
What roads are closed for Singapore’s F1?
Traffic disruptions will begin progressively at 12:01am on October 7 and the full reopening of roads is expected by 5.30am on October 13. While major stretches will be heavily restricted, motorists can still navigate into the Marina Centre via Rocher Road leading to Temasek Boulevard.
Notably, this year’s traffic schedule features a modified Access Lane (a single lane along Raffles Boulevard) with adjusted operating hours specifically designed to accommodate the new SPRINT Race format.
Private vehicles will have designated access windows, while taxis and motorcycles will retain broader access outside of active track hours.
Despite the widespread closures, normal business and leisure in the area will continue. Key parking facilities at Suntec City, Marina Square, and Millenia Walk will remain completely operational and open to the public. To ensure smooth traffic flow, Auxiliary Police Officers will be stationed throughout the vicinity, supported by prominently displayed directional signs.
Both race attendees and the general public are strongly urged to map out their journeys in advance using the official Road Access & Public Transport Guide or the OneMap routing service.
