Singapore is experiencing a significant monsoon surge that has led to flash flood warnings across the city-state. The Singapore monsoon surge began on March 19 and is expected to last until March 21. The surge has brought large amounts of heavy rain to Singapore, alongside cooler temperatures, and windy conditions. Here’s what we know about potential floods in Singapore:
Flood warning Singapore
The National Water Agency, PUB, has issued flash flood risk alerts due to the intense rainfall today. Certainly, this may overwhelm the drainage systems and cause temporary flooding in Singapore. In the past 24 hours, PUB issued flash flood warnings for the Jalan Seaview and Mountbatten Road zones, as well as the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Changi Airport and the East Coast Parkway (ECP) area.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) has forecasted that this Singapore weather monsoon surge could bring temperatures as low as 22°C.
The March 2025 monsoon surge has resulted in significant rainfall across Singapore. Meanwhile, Simei in the east received the most rain in Singapore, recording 123.2mm since the evening of March 19, 2025. Other areas like Newton and Tuas South also experienced substantial rainfall and unusually cooler temperatures of as low as 21.9°C.
