A new nature boardwalk has finally opened in Singapore offering a scenic new place to explore. Mandai Wildlife Reserve opened Mandai Boardwalk to the public on January 14, 2025. The 3.3km Mandai Boardwalk offers stunning views of the Upper Seletar Reservoir and the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, and sits on the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo. It’s a peaceful setting to observe local wildlife and catch a glimpse of some animals inside Singapore Zoo. Here’s what we know about Mandai Boardwalk in Singapore:
Mandai Boardwalk opens
The Mandai Boardwalk has five thematic stations inspired by native wildlife. Highlights include the Tree Frog’s Hangout, Lora’s Nest, and Damselfly’s Wing, which showcase the biodiversity of the area. Meanwhile, the Kingfisher entrance is inspired by the stork-billed kingfisher which is a species that lives around the boardwalk.
Visitors can go for a scenic stroll on on elevated pathways, which preserve mature tree, and enhances vegetation to attract species like birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. Appreciate nature at your own pace and stop by a range of look-out points with mesmerising views of the reservoir. Plus, animals at Singapore Zoo such as Rothschild’s giraffes can be seen from the boardwalk.
Additionally, the serene nature boardwalk has been designed with wheelchair-friendly walkways to accommodate all visitors. Meanwhile, Mike Barclay, Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, dubbed the new attraction the ”window into the wild”. Certainly, a unique place to catch a sunset or sunrise in Singapore.
Wonderfully, Mandai Boardwalk is FREE to access daily from 7am to 7pm. The free entrance is at Mandai Wildlife East. However, fees may apply if you visit any nearby attractions such as Night Safari. In fact, Mandai Wildlife East is home to cool playgrounds, dining options, and the upcoming hotel Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree.
Definitely, Mandai Boardwalk is a wonderful new sustainable nature-based experience in Singapore for locals and tourists alike.
