Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has issued updated travel advisories for Singaporeans planning trips to the Middle East. It is recommended that they defer all non-essential travel to the region as announced earlier this week. The travel warning covers 15 destinations including Iran, Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and the Palestinian territories. This guidance comes as widespread flight disruptions continue this week affecting major carries worldwide including Singapore Airlines and Scoot. Here’s what we know.
What should Singaporeans do amid the Middle East travel warning?
Singaporeans currently in the region of the Middle East are urged to stay vigilant, monitor local advisories, and remain indoors where possible. Meanwhile, embassies are aiming to provide close support to those in need. The MFA emphasizes eRegistration via this link for those in affected areas to be able to receive timely assistance.
