A vibrant, groovy family-friendly festival returns to Desaru Coast in Malaysia this September 2025. The Ombak Festival celebrates the coastal lifestyle with a rich blend of art, food, music, and Ombak Kids fun activities from September 12 to 14, 2025. The 2025 edition will be bigger and bolder than ever focusing on ASEAN-forward styles, blending global icons and regional favourites across three days. Guests can look forward to a start-studded lineup and legendary parties, alongside a range of exciting things to do just 90 minutes from Singapore. Here’s what to expect at the festival:
Ombak Festival, Desaru Coast
Ombak Festival promises an unforgettable experience, for people of all ages, against the backdrop of Malaysia’s stunning southeastern coast. The festival offers more than 50 diverse events including live music from Grammy-winning artists and pulsating DJs, gourmet experiences with award-winning chefs cooking up a storm, interactive art workshops, and children’s programmes.
Highlights include notable performances by 29 iconic global and local artists such as Simply Red, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Joss Stone, Malaysia’s rapper Joe Flizzow, Vanthan from Cambodia, Singapore’s The Pinholes, and much more.
Additionally, the festival offers engaging visual art experiences like art trails, upcycling workshops by Pulau Pulao, block printing, and bustling bazaars curated by Pasar Seloka. Plus, there’ll be elevated gastronomic experiences by renowned chefs like the Sazón Tapas & Grill by Andrew Walsh, alongside delicious Malaysian food trucks, a Festival Village, beach club parties, cocktails from pop-up bars, and more.
Meanwhile, children are invited to Ombak Kids where a dedicated zone for just children will be set up near the waterpark. Wonderfully, it will feature Go Fly Kites, LEGOLAND Speed Building Challenge, giant puppets, and other entertaining activities for children.

Festival passes are on sale for 1-day, 2-day, or 3-day with ferry and shuttle services included for those travelling from Singapore and Johor Bahru. Prices are between RM200 (S$61) to RM650 (S$304.50). Get tickets.

How to get there
Last year there were chartered bus services between Singapore’s Queen Street and Desaru Coast. Otherwise, free shuttle services may operate between Johor Bahru’s R&F Mall and Desaru Coast.
