The annual Gelato Festival World Ranking celebrates the best artisanal gelato chefs from around the world since 2011. It involves more than 100,000 artisanal gelato shops globally, as well as more than 8,000 gelato artisans globally, bringing a global community of gelato lovers together. Among them, Singapore’s gelato master Sharon Tay has been recognised on the lists Top 100 as a leading gelato maker worldwide.
The ranking is based on points accumulated by gelato experts through participation in various prestigious gelato competitions. As of 2024, Sharon Tay has 36 points due to her participation in contests where she has churned up rich and creamy gelato that has seriously satisfied ice cream lovers.
Every Gelato Festival celebrates the world’s most delicious Italian frozen dessert, where competing chefs whip up never-before-seen gelato recipes, that will blow your mind.
The top five gelato masters named on this year’s world ranking are Adam Fazekas of Fazekas Cukraszda in Budapest, followed by Giovanna Bonazzi of La Parona del Gelato in Italy’s Parona, followed by Savannah G. of Savannah’s Kitchen in San Francisco, and Massimiliano Scotti VeroLatte from Vigevano Italy at fourth place, and Maurizio Melani Veneta Gelato Italiano based in Valencia in Spain.
