Changi Airport is nonstop in the news recently. From the mesmerising multi-million dollar T2 upgrade opening after three years of renovations, to new flight routes in Vietnam and more…dedicated globe trotters will be in their element. And today, Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that it will introduce its first direct flights to London Gatwick from Singapore in 2024.
Flights to London Gatwick
The new flight route connecting London Gatwick with Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) will launch on June 21, 2024.
Singapore Airlines already operates flights from Changi Airport to London Heathrow and Manchester. The new route means that the SIA’s flight services to the UK will increase to 38 per week. Additionally, it will be third flight route by SIA to fly to the United Kingdom from Singapore.
The estimated time for the flights to London Gatwick from Singapore is 13 hours and 30 minutes.
The SQ310 London-bound flight will be on the Airbus A350-900 aircraft featuring 253 seats in three cabin classes which compromises a 42-seater Business Class, 24-seater Premium Economy Class, and 187-seater Economy Class.
Meanwhile, the SQ309 Singapore-bound flight will land at 6.20am local time – after taking off at 10.15am (UK time) – and operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Once at Changi Airport, it serves major and fast connections to Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.
Tickets go on sale on December 19 via the Singapore Airlines website.
