Time to take in some beautiful art.
2020 has been a very tumultuous time for the art and culture industries, among many others. The pandemic has, of course, put a halt to numerous events throughout the year. [Featured Image: @sgartweek, Instagram].
But, things could be on the up, as Singapore looks set to green-light the ninth-edition of the annual art week. From January 22-30 2021, the city will display some stunning visual art – through the use of both in-person and digital means.
Singapore Art Week (SAW) 2021 hosts over 100 programmes, and keen visitors can tune in online as well as attending the viewings. It will showcase some truly beautiful southeast Asian art. Over 40 Singapore-based artists are to show their work across the SAW.
On top of the galleries, local areas and streets are to be inundated with art throughout the week. Sure, you can gaze at the pieces in the National Gallery Singapore, but be sure to look out for more all around you, from national parks to bus stops.
Installations already confirmed for Singapore Art Week include the likes of “IMPART: Leap Of Faith”, “Sotheby’s Asian Art Of The 21st Century”, “Light To Night 2021” and much more. Check out a full preview over at the SAW website.
You can get involved, both in-person and online, throughout the week of 22-30 January, 2021. Be sure to use the hashtag #SgArtWeek!
