Singapore just unlocked a new achievement, as 55 billionaires now call the little red dot home, according to Forbes 2026 World’s Billionaires List. In fact, this is six more ultra-rich neighbours than on last year’s report. While the rest of us are arguing with the kopi auntie about 10 cent increases, these folks are watching their portfolios jump in billions of dollars—and not in Grab points like us. Collectively, this means that Singapore’s billionaires are sitting on around US $155.7 billion (S$198 billion), which is an extortionate amount of money to us regular people. Here’s what we know.
Who is hoarding all that wealth in Singapore?
Topping the list this year is semiconductor tycoon Jason Chang. His net worth has doubled to S$18.1 billion in 2026 and was mostly driven by the global AI-chip boom. This is opposite to majority of us whose bills are increasing instead. The second richest person in Singapore for 2026 is medical equipment mogul Li Xiting with S$14.2 billion, while property brothers Phillip and Robert Ng take the next two slots with a collective S$18.2 billion sitting nicely in their Far East Organisation empire. Additionally, online gaming founder Forrest Li rounds up the top five at S$8.6 billion.
Here are the top five billionaires for 2026 in Singapore:
- Jason Chang
- Li Xiting
- Phillip Ng
- Robert Ng
- Forrest Li
Interestingly, Singapore’s billionaires climbed from 49 in 2025 to 55 in 2026, thanks to rising markets and booming businesses. Globally, the 2026 list features 3,428 billionaires worth a combined US$20.1 trillion, with Elon Musk topping that list at US$839 billion.

These billionaires prove that people tapping on games, shopping on Shopee, and using social media platforms can apparently fund a very nice lifestyle. Plus, the list illustrates how old money never disappears after the death of paint tycoon Goh Cheng Liang in August 2025. As he dropped off the list, five of his grandchildren promptly appeared as new billionaires in his place. In fact, his granddaughter April Goh is now the 10th richest person in Singapore.
For everyone outside this 55-member rich club, the Forbes list highlights how Singapore has become a magnet for extreme wealth, even as ordinary residents juggle with sky-high rent, fuel increases, and other cost of living problems. See the World’s Billionaires 2026 List by Forbes.
