Are we all exhausted? Well according to a previous report by Sleepseeker, Singapore is the most tired country in the world. Singapore received a fatigue score of 7.20 out of 10 on the study which analysed multiple factors that contribute to poor sleeping habits. These included annual working hours, daily screen time, sleep duration, and the prevalence of sleep-rated online searches. Here’s what we know about the world’s most tired countries:
Most tired country – Singapore
The Sleepseeker report evaluated fatigue levels across different nations using data from Statista, Google Keyword Planner, Wikipedia’s annual working hours per country, and daily screen time data. These metrics were combined to calculate a fatigue score for each country – highlighting the impact of work life, technology use, and sleep deprivation on fatigue levels.
As a result, Singapore has been identified as the most fatigued country worldwide with a score of 7.20. Singaporeans work an average of 2,238 hours annually and spend more than seven hours online daily. The report states that exhaustion levels in Singapore are also due to little room for rest leading to chronic sleep deprivation. In fact, Singaporeans were ranked among the world’s worst sleepers last year.
Additionally, Singapore ranks in terms of online searches related to sleep issues so this reflects the widespread struggle to achieve quality rest.
