Hate the rain? well, unfortunately, Singapore is set to be wet and muggy through the final two weeks of January 2026. After a miserable end of the year which seen frequent downpours, rumbling afternoon thunderstorms, and grey skies stretching late into the evening, Singapore must brace for more the second half of January. Expect showers and storms which will keep umbrellas and ponchos in heavy rotation across the island. Although, the most intense bursts of rain may ease slightly, the final two weeks of the month may see showers daily. Here’s what to expect from the Singapore weather in January 2026.
How will the late-January monsoon affect Singapore’s weather?
The opening half of January has already delivered classic Northeast Monsoon conditions. Unfortunately, meteorologists predict this wet pattern to continue for the rest of the month. Meanwhile, temperatures will remain firmly in the low 30s during the day and low-to-mid 20s at night—so humid conditions above 80 per cent are expected to accompany the rain.
Showers are expected to continue on most days right up until January 31. Although, rainfall totals may gradually ease compared with the heaviest episodes earlier in the month. This means that showers may be light to moderate, instead of continuous all-day washouts. Although, the weather app is currently predicting between 55% and 90% chance of rain on certain days in the next week.
For commuters or event-goers, the Singapore weather might put a damper in your plans happening until January 31. Outdoor plans are still possible, but attendees should factor in frequent short-notice rain downpours and the possibility of afternoon storms.
