If you’ve been keeping track of your upcoming financial aid, you might be scratching your head. With the new year approaching, many Singaporeans are wondering why the January 2027 CDC voucher payout is only $300. Because normally the start of the year usually brings a heftier $500 drop.
The good news? The government didn’t shrink your benefits. In fact, you already received the bulk of your 2027 vouchers. Earlier this year, the government announced it was bringing forward the usual $500 January disbursement, dropping it into your Singpass accounts seven months early in June 2026—to immediately help the rising cost of living. This news is confirmed on the official website. Read on to find out more.
CDC Vouchers 2027
Now if you’re wondering where this new $300 came out of, here’s where exactly it comes from. The January 2027 payout is actually an extra bonus on top of the original budget.
Back in July, the Ministry of Finance rolled out a $900 million support package in response to elevated global energy costs linked to the Middle East conflict. To help households offset higher utility and grocery bills, they added a surprise $300 extra.
Wonderfully, you can use your CDC vouchers all the way until December 31, 2027. Learn more on CDC vouchers. Be sure to note the following:
- Total pool: Every Singaporean household receives a combined $800 to spend in June 2026 and January 2027.
- The split: The vouchers are strictly split 50/50 between participating supermarkets and heartland merchants or hawkers.
- The deadline: December 31, 2027.
