Christmas On A Great Street, Orchard Road’s iconic festive light-up, officially returns to Singapore on November 16. The 40th edition is set to be much larger and merrier than previous years. Orchard Road Business Association said that there will be three epic Christmas Villages, the first-ever Christmas Eve Street Party, and other magical events to kick off the festive season.
ORBA and Hitachi will add excitement to your Christmas season until January 1, 2024. Christmas On A Great Street 2023’s theme is cotton candy, similar to Changi Festive Village 2023. Visitors are invited to step into a whimsical world of childlike wonder. Here’s what to look forward to:
Christmas On A Great Street Light-Up
Expect beautiful Christmas light displays spread along 3.1km transforming Orchard Road from November 16.
The light-up begins at Tanglin Road and will feature a colourful selection of decorations, from reindeers, to cotton candy canes, Christmas trees, Music In The Air with tunes playing from 44 lamps, and much more. Plus, there will be multimedia project mapping and AR projections offering 3D shows on buildings like Hilton Singapore Orchard, as well as dozens of energy-saving trees to enhance the festive feeling.
The Orchard Road Christmas lights will be turned on from 6.30pm to midnight every evening, except on Fridays and Saturdays, where they will stay alight until 2am. However, on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the lights will glisten until late.
The first Christmas Eve Street Party
This year’s Christmas On A Great Street features an epic street party happening from Bideford Junction to Paterson Junction from 6pm on Christmas Eve. Visitors will be treated to a buzzing street party until 12.30am, alongside live performances, DJ sessions, Santa meets, Christmas caroling, delicious food trucks, a Christmas Market, and even a countdown to Christmas Day.
Christmas Villages
