Illumination’s Minion Land, the latest attraction at Universal Studios Singapore, officially opened today February 14, 2025. The new theme park offers an exciting range of attractions, themed dining, and exclusive merchandise – all inspired by Illumination’s beloved Despicable Me and Minions franchises. Our team got an exclusive sneak peak of Minion Land this morning before the park opened to the public. Here’s what you should know about Minion Land in Singapore:
Minion Land Opening Ceremony
The iconic park – a partnership with Universal Creative, Resorts World Sentosa, and Illumination – features exclusive immersive experiences to Universal Studios Singapore. These include the first-ever Minion dance party themed carousel named Buggie Boogie and Super Hungry Food Stand which is a huge, all-new version of the waterfront snack stand from Despicable Me.
Our team was welcomed into the park by a laughter-filled celebration with the Minions, Gru, and other fan-favourite characters who were dancing and let off yellow balloons and confetti into the sky.
There are Minion-themed rides spread across three immersive zones: Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighbourhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.
The seaside carnival from Despicable Me, Super Silly Fun Land, offers guests the chance to ride the Buggie Boogie carousel and dance to popular songs, as well as soar through the sky on Silly Swirly. Additionally, you can try your luck at a flipping banana game and Space Killer – a game booth modelled after the Supper Silly Space Killer – in Despicable Me.
Explore Gru’s Neighborhood which is home to Gru, Lucy, and the girls – Margo, Edith, and Agnes, as well as the iconic Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride. The unpredictable ride takes guests through Gru’s super villain laboratory and can transform guests into a Minion. Meanwhile, Minions host meet-and-greets and take over the street in the Minute of Minion Mayhem show throughout the day.
Guests can stock up on a range of Minion-themed sweet treats and merchandise at three unique stores inside Minion Marketplace. From candy-themed Sweet Surrender with apparel, plush toys, homeware, among others, to the latest fashion items at Pop Store, and accessories and toys galore at Fun Store…you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Themed dining
Wonderfully, there are themed dining options at Minion Land in Singapore. Indulge on delicious themed dishes at the Super Hungry Food Stand such as Unlucky Ducky Creamy Chicken Stew, Super Silly Veggie Burger, and Minion-inspired popcorn flavours, to name a few.
