Singapore gained a number of interesting titles over the years. Not a surprise, we’re the most expensive city worldwide and one of the most instagrammable on earth, as well as having some of the best roads globally, and dozens of the world’s best hospitals…the list goes on.
But according to a study by King Casino Bonus in the United Kingdom, Singapore is, in fact, one of the most overrated cities in the world.
The Most Overrated Cities Worldwide Study
King Casino Bonus, is a market analysis platform, that studied thousands of reviews and ratings across the web, also evaluating negative keywords and phrases, on portals such as TripAdvisor. Their team of experts were able to compile a list of the World’s Most Overrated Cities, alongside which specific attraction in each city disappoints tourists the most.
Singapore took third place, as one of the cities that disappoints 15.8% of travellers the most, in a study of 85 cities worldwide. While Bangkok in Thailand came in at number one and Antalya in Tukey at number two – with more than 16% of tourists being let down.
”Singapore does not lack in photo spots like the world famous infinity pool on top of the Marina Sand Bay building and the stunning Gardens by the Bay but lacks in soul and culture,” the report states.
Singapore’s Most Overrated Attraction
As for the least satisfying attraction in Singapore, we can’t say we’re surprised with the result being Orchard Road. Why are these tourists so obsessed with Orchard Road? Indeed, it’s a hub for shopping, award-winning restaurants, and more…but it’s not a unique activity to do in Singapore.
Here’s the Top 10 World’s Most Overrated Cities And Attractions:
1. Bangkok – Khaosan Road – 16.6%
2. Antalya – Water Planet Aqua Park – 16.5%
3. Singapore – Orchard Road – 15.8%
