Imagine stepping through the gates at Resorts World Sentosa and straight into a living Pokémon universe. Well, this idea may soon become a reality, because an iconic Pokémon experience is now being lined up for Universal Studios theme parks around the world. In celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Universal Destinations & Experiences have teamed up with The Pokémon Company to first debut this world-class Pokémon attraction at Universal Studios Japan, before expanding to other global locations. While Singapore’s version has not been officially detailed yet, the announcement has sparked intense buzz that Resorts World Sentosa may eventually host its own immersive Pokémon zone. Here’s what we know.
What can fans expect from the Pokémon experience?
According to a press release and media reports, the upcoming Pokémon experience is being designed as a multi-sensory attraction that engages all five senses and brings the Pokémon world to life in an unexpected way. From meet-and-greets with Pikachu to nonstop photo-taking at Pokémon parades, hoping on thrilling rides, and exploring interactive Pokémon zones…fans will be in their element. In fact, company executives have described the project as bold, innovative, and unlike anything fans have seen in theme parks worldwide.
For Singaporeans, the idea of a Pokémon experience at Universal Studios Singapore brings serious excitement. Although, we are not sure whether it will be a massive Pokémon theme park like Minion Land or a smaller Pokémon attraction. For now, Universal Studios has only committed to launching the first full Pokémon project at Universal Studios Japan. Meanwhile, other destinations like USS will follow at a later stage.
Certainly, a Pokémon attraction in Singapore would be another magnet for tourists and families across the region. We will watch closely on this story and update this article with more information later this year.
