Mandai Wildlife Reserve opened Singapore’s fifth wildlife park to the public on March 12, 2025. Inspired by Southeast Asia’s rainforests, visitors can explore eight different zones, featuring more than 30 animal species roaming freely, spanning 13 hectares which is the size of 20 football fields. In fact, Rainforest Wild Asia is the first adventure-based zoological park in Asia. Here’s what we know about the new wildlife park aiming to foster a deeper connection to nature in Singapore:
Rainforest Wild Asia
The unique adventure-based zoological park offers visitors an immersive experience inspired by treks through Southeast Asian rainforests. It features eight diverse zones and 36 animal species including the likes of sun bears and Malayan tigers. With a range of paths to explore, visitors can embark on journeys of discovery to seek out wildlife and marvel at the wonders of an Asian rainforest. Meanwhile, it is accessible from Mandai Wildlife West.

The main highlight of the scenic park is the adventure-based design which allows guests to select their level of exploration. From elevated walkways with sheltered rest stops, to 360-degree lookout points hidden atop forest trails like Forest Floor, suspension bridges, and even wheelchair-friendly walkways with fossil imprints…it’s the ultimate jungle trek.

Meanwhile, thrill seekers can book guided tours such as Critter Crawl through a 60-metre-long cave inspired by UNESCO World Heritage Site Mulu Caves in Malaysia, as well as a 3-hour rock climbing adventure, and Canopy Jump where you can leap 13 to 20-metres high into thin air. Additionally, AIA Vitality Bounce three to seven metres above the Watering Hole is a lush canopy perfect for children to play.
Plus, there’s plenty of instagrammable spots like cascading waterfalls surrounded by rock formations to snap picture-perfect moments. Certainly, it’s the ultimate location to feel close to nature and observe animals in a safe environment.
The largest animal habitat in Rainforest Wild Asia is home to majestic Malayan Tigers. Additionally, different animals, such as red dholes and new-to-Singapore endangered species like the Philippine spotted deer, are also in the park – where nearly 7,000 Southeast Asian trees and shrubs have been planted. Plus, the zoological park was listed as one of the world’s best things to do for 2025.
Unique dining
Excitingly, the wildlife park will open two vibrant cafes, and a merchandise store, alongside Singapore’s first and only cave restaurant named Cavern Restaurant, which has opened. Get our guide on Cavern Restaurant.

How to get tickets

Additionally, Rainforest Wild Asia is just the first phase of a larger project at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. The next phase, Rainforest Wild Africa, takes inspiration from regions in Africa and Madagascar. Certainly, this interactive rainforest in Singapore will be one of the best new wildlife attractions. Definitely, one of the best things to do with kids over the school holidays this season.
