Singapore Changi Airport is no stranger to awards. From winning the title of World’s Best Airport repeatedly to being ranked as one of the world’s most luxurious airports, and more…it’s no wonder Changi Airport has been ranked as the third cleanest airport worldwide according to Skytrax World Airport Awards 2024.
World’s Cleanest Airports 2024
Tokyo Haneda Airport is the world’s cleanest airport 2024 followed by Seoul’s Incheon at second place both known for top hygiene standards. Airport cleanliness has become vital to travellers since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Skytrax World Airport Awards recognises these high standards and ranks airports on several key factors.
Singapore Changi Airport is noticed for its enhanced cleaning protocols with areas disinfected regularly, more than 1,200 hand sanitizers available across the airport, as well as innovative cleaning technologies including the use of cleaning robots, and sustainable efforts to enhance overall cleanliness. Plus, Instant Feedback Systems (IFS) in the bathrooms help to analyse customer satisfaction.
Interestingly, the majority of the world’s cleanest airports are located in Asia in particular Japan. In fact, only one European airport made the Top 10. These are the cleanest airports in the world for 2024:
1. Tokyo Haneda Airport, Japan
2. Seoul Incheon Airport, South Korea
3. Singapore Changi Airport, Singapore
4. Doha Hamad Airport, Qatar
5. Chubu Centrair Nagoya Airport, Japan
6. Tokyo Narita Airport, Japan
7. Kansai International Airport, Japan
8. Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong
9. Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan
10. Zurich International Airport, Switzerland
These rankings on the world’s cleanest airports showcase that Asia is leading the way in cleanliness and maintaining high standards that other airports should look up to.
