Do you want free money? More than 1.5 million Singaporeans are set to benefit from the Goods and Services Tax Voucher (GSTV) scheme in August 2025—with eligible individuals receiving up to $850 in cash payouts, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Finance on July 7. This significant disbursement is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to help lower and middle—income citizens manage the rising cost of living and offset the impact of the GST. Here’s what we know about the Singapore GST Voucher 2025 cash payouts.
Who is eligible for the Singapore GST Voucher 2025?
The eligibility criteria for the 2025 GST Voucher cash payouts have been updated to reflect changes in income levels. Singaporeans aged 21 and above in 2025, with an assessable income not exceeding $39,000 for the Year of Assessment 2024, and living in homes with an annual value of up to $21,000 as of December 31, 2024, will receive the maximum payout of $850.
Meanwhile, those whose homes have an annual value between $21,001 and $31,000 will receive $450. This adjustment in the income threshold, up from $34,000 previously, ensures that the scheme continues to support those most in need as the cost of living rises.
Additionally, there are other 2025 financial aid schemes on offer in Singapore. For instance, around 690,000 eligible seniors will receive MediSave top-ups ranging from $150 to $450—depending on their age and the annual value of their home. These funds will be credited directly to their CPF MediSave accounts to help with healthcare expenses. Meanwhile, eligible recipients will be notified via SMS or letter once their benefits have been credited, and no action is required for those who have previously signed up for government benefits.
Overall, a total of $1,5 billion will be disbursed under the GSTV – Cash and GSTV – MediSave schemes this year. All payments will be automatically received from August 6, 2025. Indeed, this reinforces the government’s commitment to supporting Singaporeans through targeted financial assistance. Citizens can check their eligibility and payment details on the official govbenefits website.
