
The government is providing a range of financial support schemes to help citizens cope with the cost of living crisis in Singapore. As a result, around 2.9 million Singaporeans aged 21 and above will receive cash payouts ranging from $200 to $600 in Singapore this December 2025. The government payout, part of the Assurance Package (AP), was introduced to provide financial relief to lower and middle-income households against the impact of rising living costs and the Goods and Service Tax (GST) increase. These payouts are given based on income levels and property ownership to ensure those in need are supported the most. Here’s what we know about the 2025 Singapore cost of living payment:
Singapore cost of living payment
The one-off cash payout, part of the Assurance Package spanning from 2022 to 2026, will be automatically paid to all eligible adult Singaporeans aged 21 and above in December 2025. The Assurance Package (AP) Cash payments are given out based on Assemble Income (AI) and property ownership.
Those with an Assemble Income (AI) of up to $34,000 will receive the Singapore $600 cash cost of living payment. Meanwhile, Singaporeans with an AI of between $34,000 and $100,000 will receive a $350 cash payout, and those with an AI of more than $100,000 and/or owns more than one property will receive a $100 cash payout in December 2025.
Additionally, you must be a Singapore citizen residing in Singapore to qualify for these payments. It will be paid via PayNow-NRIC, direct bank transfers, or GovCash. Those eligible will receive a notification via SMS or a letter. Find out more about eligibility on the government benefits website.
