Singapore Night Festival 2024 lights up The Lion City for its 15 edition from now until September 7, 2024. The thrilling light festival takes over the Bras.Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct to celebrate art, culture, and nostalgia. It features a combination of beautiful art and light installations, performances, and engaging activities for people of all ages. Here’s what to look out for at Singapore Night Festival 2024:
Singapore Night Festival 2024
The Singapore Night Festival 2024 will be held over three weekends. This year’s festival theme is Art of Play which explores the concept of play and childhood, taking inspiration from the precinct’s historical significance, through unique installations and immersive experiences.
From concerts, to movie screenings, workshops, interactive guided tours, colourful exhibitions, theatre shows, and more, from both global and local talent….you won’t be bored.
Excitingly, most events are free-to-enter with selected programmes costing as little as $5. There are more than 50 experiences to discover, so we’ve narrowed down the best things to do this year.
Festival highlights
1. Night light installations and project mapping
Visitors are invited to explore the precinct’s 10 light installations themed around play. Wonderfully, these cool installations feature interactive elements and instagrammable displays. Some notable installations include Fortune Beads at Funan, Look Up, Sunbear! conveying courage and wisdom messages, glittery female-influenced Delulu High, and the dazzling Red House Cafe taking inspiration from a 1960s hangout.
Meanwhile, there will be exciting projections by local artists on iconic buildings, such as the Peranakan Museum and CHIJMES, where you can witness visual masterpieces. For instance, Between Threads on the facade of the Peranakan museum is one to see.

2. Wonder World – The Machine of Nostalgia
One standout attraction, created by local artist Sam Lo, is inspired by a 1950s theme park in Singapore. Wonder World recaptures the spectacular atmosphere of retro amusement parks with iconic rides, old-school game stalls, nostalgia food, beverages, and more. Be transported back through time and find a sense of belonging and identity. This attraction is a paid admission.
3. Festival Villages
Wander four iconic festival villages offering a mix of food, shopping, live performances, and unique experiences. For instance, Festival Village @ CHIJMES returns with delicious delicacies. Meanwhile, a new late-night festival village with an interactive playground, escape room, and garden called Twilight Playground is popping up at GR.ID. Plus, there’ll be SMU Arts Fest 2024: Play at SMU Campus Green and Pixel Paradise inspired by the Peranakan Museum on Armenian Street.
Tuck into sweet chocolate crepes, grilled meats, fusion finger food, global eats like Japanese udon, and much more across the neighbourhood.
