The highly-anticipated Christmas Train Show has opened at Gardens By The Bay for the first time. The holiday train show, made its debut at Flower Dome, bringing the iconic century-old American festive tradition to the heart of Singapore. Visitors can enjoy the whimsical magic of miniature trains winding through scenic landscapes at the gardens. In fact, the Christmas Train Show is inspired by the iconic Holiday Train Show at New York Botanical Garden. Here’s what we know about the innovative festive event in Singapore:
Christmas Train Show
The Christmas Train Show features a series of model trains running through miniature versions of famous American landmarks. These include places like the Empire State Building, Garden Central Station, and the Statue of Liberty, to name a few.
Presented in collaboration with the United States Embassy in Singapore, these five miniature trains are crafted with intricate details, and some are even made from real plants sourced from the United States. Meanwhile, the show also offers a vintage Swedish Railbus where visitors can step inside and view authentic Swedish artifacts on loan from the Swedish Railway Museum.
The train tracks have been placed among festive plants like 16 different varieties of poinsettias and the largest collection of conifers.
Additionally, the Gardens By The Bay Christmas Train Show pays tribute to Singapore’s rail journey with recreations of the facade of Raffles Place MRT station and an MRT train cabin. Visitors can also explore timelines of Singapore’s rail development.
The festive showcase runs from 9am to 9pm daily until January 5, 2025. Admission to Flower Dome applies. Certainly, this is one of the best Christmas events for kids in Singapore this month. Plus, it will inspire a sense of childhood nostalgia in teenagers and adults.
Overall, the Christmas Train Show is one of the best things to do for Christmas 2024 in Singapore. Wonderfully, the event is part of a broader collection of holiday activities at Gardens By The Bay, including Disney Garden of Wonder and Christmas Wonderland.
